Digital X-Rays
We use low-dose digital x-rays at Spruce Dental because we care about your safety and the quality of care we provide. Digital x-rays minimize patients' radiation exposure, reducing it by as much as 80 percent compared to x-rays that use film.
Safety alone makes digital x-rays invaluable, but there are several other benefits. The highly detailed digital images make diagnosing conditions more efficient and play an important role in patient education. When our dentists share the highly detailed images with you, you can easily see the problem and understand why treatment’s needed and how it will benefit you.
We save your digital x-rays safely on our in-house network so that everyone on our team can easily access them in moments. Your x-rays are also readily available to share with specialists and your insurance company.
Intraoral Cameras
During your exams, our dentists in Sunnyvale use intraoral cameras that capture real-time images of your mouth and display them on your chairside monitor. You have a front-row seat to your exam and can follow along as our dentists check your teeth and gums.
If they notice a cavity or broken or worn tooth, you can watch the image and see what they see. When you visualize the problem, you can better understand why treatment is needed and how it will benefit your oral health.
After your exam, we can save still images to your patient record to refer to them in the future or to share with specialists and insurance companies.
Laser Dentistry
At Spruce Dental, we use laser dentistry because it offers many benefits compared to more invasive treatment methods:
- Accurately and precisely targets diseased areas, which ensures a more comfortable procedure
- Results in less pain, swelling, and bleeding
- Allows faster recovery and shorter healing times
- Minimizes the risk of infection
We commonly use laser dentistry to perform comfortable periodontal procedures, treat cold sores and canker sores, and recontour the gum line.
Electric Handpieces
A common anxiety trigger for many patients is the high-pitched sound of an air-driven dental drill, but our electric handpieces do away with the annoying noise and vibrations that many patients find uncomfortable. Our electric handpieces are also gentler on teeth and allow our dentists to be much more precise when removing decay and preparing teeth for restorations.
